Quinn Kelsey returns to The Metropolitan Opera from September 30–November 8, singing the title role in Verdi’s tragic masterpiece, Rigoletto. Kelsey has appeared in this signature role on some of the world’s most prestigious stages, including The Metropolitan Opera, a performance that appeared as part of The Met: Live in HD series, Opéra National de Paris, Opernhaus Zürich, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and many others. Operawire praised a prior performance at The Met, saying, “Note for note, moment for moment, this without any doubt in my mind is the most compelling Rigoletto that I’ve heard at the Met in a decade.”

Kelsey joins an all-star cast in Bartlett Sher’s Weimar-inspired production, including Nadine Sierra and Erin Morley as Gilda, Stephen Costello as the Duke of Mantua, Soloman Howard and Ante Jerkunica as Sparafucile, and J’Nai Bridges as Maddalena.  Pier Giorgio Morandi conducts.

Kelsey’s lauded interpretation is preserved on the 2022 Apple Music-exclusive live recording of Rigoletto.
