The trumpet shall sound this December when Quinn Kelsey makes his debut with the Philadelphia Orchestra, bringing his “rich, robust sound and seamless legato” (Bachtrack) to Handel’s Messiah. The concerts also mark Kelsey’s first professional performances of this beloved work, a highly-anticipated event for audiences and artist alike.

Composed in 1741, Messiah is one of the most celebrated oratorios in classical music. Known for its powerful choral movements, expressive arias, and dramatic orchestration, Messiah has become a staple in both concert halls and holiday performances, captivating audiences with its grandeur and uplifting spirit.

Kelsey joins a stunning lineup of soloists—performing under the baton of Yannick Nézet-Séguin—including soprano Lucy Crowe, countertenor Jakub Józef Orliński, and tenor Frédéric Antoun, supported by the Philadelphia Symphonic Choir. Performances will take place on December 12, 13, and 14 at Marian Anderson Hall.
