On May 22, Quinn Kelsey makes his company debut singing Giorgio Germont in Verdi’s iconic, heartbreaking opera La Traviata at the Internationale Maifestspiele Wiesbaden. A co-production of the Hessisches Staatstheater Wiesbaden and Opera Ballet Vlaanderen, Kelsey is joined by Rachel Willis-Sørensen as Violetta and Saimir Pirgu as Alfredo, under the baton of Leo McFall and directed by Tom Goossens.

Kelsey was recently seen as Giorgio Germont at The Metropolitan Opera in a Michael Mayer production, sharing the stage with soprano Aleksandra Kurzak. The Classical Source lauded his performance, noting that “he used his elegant baritone and strong dramatic presence to deliver an emotionally intense and musically distinct portrayal.”

The performance begins at 7:30 p.m. and will be presented in Italian with German and English surtitles.
