Quinn Kelsey returns to his signature role, the title character in Rigoletto, at LA Opera this May 31, and June 8, 12, 15, 18, and 21. “Born to sing Verdi” (Air Mail:The Arts Intel Report), the baritone has performed his acclaimed interpretation on some of the worlds most prodigious stages, including The Metropolitan Opera, in a performance that appeared as part of The Met: Live in HD series, Opéra National de Paris, Opernhaus Zürich, Lyric Opera of Chicago, and many others. Kelsey’s performance is preserved on the 2022 Apple Music-exclusive live recording of Rigoletto.

Led by James Conlon on the podium, Kelsey joins an all-star cast in Tomer Zvulun’s production, which updates the action to Mussolini’s Italy. Tenor René Barbera sings the sadistic Duke of Mantual, and sopranos Lisette Oropesa and Kathryn Lewek share the role of the innocent Gilda. Piexin Chen and Sarah Saturnino sing the brother-sister duo, Sparafucile and Maddalena.
